There is no exception to it with Dhaka Opinion Magazine. But the magazine does not solely aim to earn revenue. It publishes articles, editorials, book reviews and letters to the editor with the intention to help to develop various conditions across countries. For this, it is important for readers across countries to get more access to the contents of the magazine. Reflecting such importance, the magazine has changed its business model from the subscription-only to a combined model, which is consisted of subscription, donation and advertisement, so that it turns out to be more readers friendly.
Notably, the magazine does not have any policy to accept donations without providing any benefit to donors and readers. Such a policy mainly aims to increase the capacity of the magazine to provide more access to readers. Alternatively said, donations to the magazine mean increased accessibility. Because of donations, Dhaka Opinion Magazine will be capable of giving free access to half to two-thirds of its contents to all readers and donors across countries from now on. Consequently, under the combined model, readers from any country will be able to read half to two-thirds of the contents of the magazine without any subscription. Such a policy is applicable to editorials, articles and book reviews. Letters to the editor are given free access to readers altogether. But subscription is needed for readers across countries to get access to all contents of the magazine.
The magazine has not yet activated its donation option. Of course, anyone can donate to the magazine once or more times, once such an option is activated. Yet, the Magazine is giving you free access to more of its contents.
