The Istanbul talks between the delegates of Russia and Ukraine undoubtedly led to some important developments in the efforts to end the ongoing war in Ukraine that has already devastated cities, led millions of Ukrainians to flee from their home, left thousands dead and injured and isolated the economy of Russia. After the peace talks, which received global attention, Russia announced that it will significantly lessen its military operations in Kyiv and Chernihiv, a northern city of Ukraine. By this time, Moscow has started to withdraw troops from the two noted territories, even if the reduction of troops is very…
The Russia-Ukraine war has led to intense measures and counter measures by Russia and the West. While Russia invaded Ukraine, the West provided weapons to Ukraine to fight against Russia. While Russia was sanctioned by the West, the latter was sanctioned by Russia. Earlier, Russia ordered to keep its nuclear deterrence force ready and threatened
By this time, the Russia-Ukraine war has reached around one month. Of course, many efforts including economic sanctions against Russia, diplomatic talks of the United States, France, Germany and some other countries and bilateral talks directly between Russian and Ukrainian delegates were made. Even if there may be some justification for such killing from the winning party, it…

Of course, this is not the only accident in the rivers. Last year, a small-sized passenger-carrying launch was directly hit and capsized by a bigger launch in the same river. Moreover, many other accidents of launches, boats and ferries occur in the rivers of Bangladesh. But, undeniably, such accidents indicate not only the inactiveness of concerned authorities especially the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) but also the…
Of course, global diplomacy is an important means of preventing and resolving conflicts including intra- and inter-country wars. But the commencement of the Russia- Ukraine war, a failure of diplomacy, puts global diplomacy, especially preventive diplomacy which is conflict prevention and other forms of preventive action aimed at ending armed conflicts prior to the escalation to widespread violence, at a significant threat and has newly revived the problem of its effectiveness. Though global preventive diplomatic mechanisms and efforts are improved much, it is undeniable that preventive diplomacy has failed many times to prevent both intra- and inter-country wars. The case…
