The shared goals and aspirations that come with marriage also bring a sense of fulfillment and purpose to both individuals involved in marriage. According to multiple sources, studies have shown that married individuals tend to have better overall mental and physical health including reduced mental stress compared to their unmarried counterparts.

But the economic barriers are definitely crucial barriers to marriage for many across the world, regardless of religion.
When individuals or couples do not have enough money to cover their needs and expenses, it becomes challenging for them to afford the costs associated with marriage, including wedding ceremonies, engagement rings, or even the daily expenses of maintaining a household. In some countries, economic barriers are significant barriers for many individuals or couples, with high costs associated with traditional marriage ceremonies, dowries and other cultural practices regarding marriage. These expenses lead to financial burdens for many individuals and families, making it difficult for them to afford marriage. Limited job opportunities and low wages in certain countries further contribute to economic barriers by making it challenging for individuals to achieve the financial stability necessary for starting a family.
But economic barriers to marriage are more prevalent in developing and less developed countries. In different developing and less developed countries, there are economic, social and other factors behind economic barriers to marriage. But a lack of or limited economic opportunities including employment opportunities makes it difficult for many to establish a stable financial foundation in different countries. Additionally, the high levels of poverty and income inequality within a society contribute to economic barriers by limiting individuals’ ability to afford the costs associated with marriage, including wedding expenses and establishing a household. Among others, cultural norms and traditions may also play a significant role in creating economic barriers to marriage in different countries.

It is notable that there are government efforts to address economic barriers to marriage and to promote marriage in different countries. The governments of many countries including many developed and developing countries have taken various steps including the steps to sponsor or facilitate marriage aiming to promote marriage as a stable social institution and support families in their financial endeavors. Economic barriers to marriage definitely need to be addressed. But the scope of government sponsored marriage needs to be increased. Increased scope can encourage more individuals to consider this option, thereby strengthening the institution of marriage in society. Offering direct financial support can help remove financial barriers to marriage for more people in different countries. But the amount of financial assistance needs to be increased in different countries. Along with increased government funding, establishing partnerships with private organizations may be helpful in increasing funding opportunities for government sponsored marriages in different countries. But government sponsored marriage is needed more in developing and less developed countries, where financial barriers to marriage are more.
But addressing economic concerns is imperative in different countries. For this, providing the scope of income generation opportunities by creating job opportunities and promoting entrepreneurial initiatives is crucial in different countries. Implementing policies that promote financial stability and upward mobility, including providing affordable housing options and increasing access to economic opportunities may be helpful in many countries. But promoting mutual responsibility, respect, and a culture of appreciation, the absence of which often leads to marital conflicts, violence and divorce, is also vital for marital happiness, not just for one spouse, but for both. Without responsibility for each other, happiness is difficult in marital life.
But the opposite sex marriage needs to be promoted across the world. Pertinently saying, many individuals are unwilling to marry the opposite sex and there are many married couples of the same sex across the world. This has been increasing in several countries including in several European countries. Several countries have also implemented laws to allow same sex marriage. But for the generational cause and other reasons, the opposite sex marriage is desirable. For this, along with the government, non-government and other organizations need to create awareness and discourage same sex-marriage.
